The purpose-built Residence had 9 private beds, and was the first facility of its kind on the island of Montreal . <\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/article><article class=\"twae-timeline-entry twae-left-aligned\"><div class=\"twae-timeline-entry-inner\"><p><time class=\"twae-label-extra-label\"><br \/><span class=\"twae-label\" style=\"color: #7b3485;\">2012<\/span><\/time><\/p><div class=\"twae-icon\">\u00a0<\/div><div class=\"twae-data-container\"><div class=\"twae-description\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In accordance with the recommendation from the Ministry of Health and Social Services of 1 palliative bed per 10,000 population, the Residence added 14 additional beds in April 2012 on a dedicated floor of a long-term care facility nearby &#8211; the Stillview Pavilion.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/article><article class=\"twae-timeline-entry twae-right-aligned\"><div class=\"twae-timeline-entry-inner\"><p><time class=\"twae-label-extra-label\"><br \/><span class=\"twae-label\" style=\"color: #7b3485;\">2018<\/span><\/time><\/p><div class=\"twae-icon\">\u00a0<\/div><div class=\"twae-data-container\"><div class=\"twae-description\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">June 2018 marked a defining moment for the future of the West Island Palliative Care Residence. Hundreds of supporters and employees of the Residence came together to celebrate the start of construction to consolidate its two separate locations into a single, expanded facility housing all of its 23 beds under one roof.
