KIRKLAND, Quebec, February 9th, 2024 – The 25th Annual Valentine’s Ball, a milestone celebration in support of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence (the Residence), triumphed as it raised an impressive $680,000 net, a testament to the overwhelming generosity of nearly 450 guests, sponsors, and donors. The enchanting gathering unfolded at Château Vaudreuil’s Pavillion sur le Lac, where under the esteemed presidency of Barry F. Lorenzetti, guests celebrated this anniversary amidst a vibrant Mardi Gras ambience, adding to the festivity of the occasion. The money raised that evening is a crucial source of funding for the superior palliative care provided by the Residence.

Dale Weil, Executive Director of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Tonight, we celebrate our remarkably supportive community, the benevolence of our donors, the dedication of our sponsors, and the tireless efforts of our volunteers and employees who embody the Residence’s mission, providing quality palliative care for patients and their families day-in and day-out. The resonance of support from our community is truly profound, and we are sincerely thankful for their commitment.”

The 25th edition of the Ball not only marked a significant milestone but also provided a poignant moment to honour Russell Williams, co-founder of the Residence. Amidst the festivities, a special segment was dedicated to acknowledging his invaluable contribution to the inception and success of the Residence. Russell's unwavering commitment, drive, expertise, and steadfast support have been instrumental in shaping the journey of the Residence, enabling it to be what it is today- a gem of the community. The gourmet dinner was followed by a surprise duet performance by Barry Lorenzetti and Brittany Kennel and an evening of dancing with The Fundamentals.

At the helm of the evening's program again this year were Yolande James, Managing Director and Head of Strategic Communications and Global Governmental Affairs at PSP Investment and Jamie Orchard, journalist and Senior Advisor, Public Relations & Media, VIA Rail Canada. Barry F. Lorenzetti, CEO and Founder of BFL Canada shared the importance of getting involved in the community. His remarkable engagement and support in his role as Honorary President have greatly contributed to the success of this year’s Ball.
Provincial and municipal politicians in attendance at the event included MP Francis Scarpaleggia (Lac-St-Louis), and MNA’s Monsef Derraji (Nelligan), Brigitte Garceau (Robert Baldwin), as well as West Island mayors Jim Beis, Heidi Ektvedt, Tim Thomas, and Alex Bottausci.
We sincerely thank our major sponsors who supported the Ball this year: BFL Canada, Broccolini, Pfizer Canada, Merck Canada, Hagen Group, TASK, Delmar International, Voluntas commemoration and Roxboro Excavation.
