The 26th Annual Valentine’s Ball in support of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence shone brightly on February 14th, raising a record-breaking $730,000 net. Over 400 guests gathered at the Pavillon sur le Lac at Château Vaudreuil, united by generosity and a shared commitment to compassionate end-of-life care.

Love Lights the Way
The evening was presided over by Laurent Ferreira, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank, a long-time supporter of the Residence. In his role as Honorary President, he exemplified the spirit of giving back to the community and the importance of ensuring that everyone in need has access to compassionate care at such a vulnerable time in their lives.
His leadership and generosity were instrumental in making the event a success. Joining Mr. Ferreira at his table were three past Honorary Presidents; Barry Lorenzetti, Joseph Broccolini and Louis Vachon.

A Night of Emotion and Celebration
Guests were treated to an inspiring musical opening by Dawn Taylor Watson and Adam James, who performed a medley of love songs, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The Directors showband followed later in the evening and brought the crowd to their feet with their dynamic and energetic sets of music. The much-anticipated Online Auction had over 200 items, including 29 artworks generously donated by artists, on display at the Pavilion, lending a creative flair to the ambiance.

Dale Weil, Executive Director of the Residence, addressed the crowd with heartfelt words: "Tonight, we celebrate the power of love, compassion, and community. Your unwavering support allows us to provide not just care, but comfort, dignity, and peace for our patients and their loved ones. Together, we create an oasis where every moment matters."
The evening also featured a tribute to the late Bonnie and her family, Rick, Blair, and Sean Pattee, who are deeply connected to the Residence. The tribute reminded everyone of palliative care’s profound and lasting impact on an entire family.
Distinguished Guests and Generous Supporters
Several political figures attended the event, including MP Francis Scarpaleggia (Lac-St-Louis), MNA Monsef Derraji (Nelligan), MNA Brigitte Garceau (Robert-Baldwin), MNA Gregory Kelley (Jacques Cartier), Marwah Rizqy (Saint Laurent) and West Island mayors Jim Beis, Alex Bottausci, Heidi Ektvedt, and Tim Thomas.
The Ball’s success was made possible thanks to the generosity of its major sponsors, including National Bank, Pfizer Canada, Broccolini, BFL Canada, Merck Canada, TASK, Delmar International, and Roxboro Excavation. The Residence was also delighted to welcome new sponsors Jacques Maurice Group of Scotia Wealth Management, KRB, la Vie en Rose, Fiera Capital, Tenaquip, and new supporters Bell Canada and Birkenstock.
