This idea helps us not only understand the ways in which multiple dimensions of suffering intersect and interact with each other, it also provides a theoretical foundation for interdisciplinary practice.MAID provides a socially sanctioned outlet for the relief of total pain. It also contributes to new forms of distress for patients and caregivers.
This presentation discusses the existential challenges MAID poses to our role as palliative care clinicians.
